The Competitive tournament for December is happening THIS weekend at Stad. Saturday morning, 9am start time. Check the registrations page to ensure you’re playing.

PLEASE NOTE: Main entrance is still under construction so we will need to come in through the NORTH GATE… the entrance is located on North Street.

If you come across the MacDonald bridge from Dartmouth take the right exit immediately after the bridge. Then go straight into the base.

If coming from anywhere else take North street from Barrington and then take a right into the base.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to some teams dropping out, there will only be 1 gym this weekend for Super Rec, Auburn. Please ensure your team is notified as this is a bit “last minute” (Wednesday night).

The November tournament happens THIS weekend, with Competitive playing at Auburn and Super Rec at Stad. Check the registrations page to see where you’re at.

Super Rec teams: if you have any different players playing on your team this month, please email Luke (dewittl [AT] gmail [DOT] com) or Anita (vballnita [AT] gmail [DOT] com) with your changes so we can be sure to get your players on the list before the Thursday deadline.

Competitve teams: Your next tournament in December will be happening on the SECOND Saturday of the month, rather than the first to accommodate so many teams headed to Moncton. Super Rec teams will still play on the first Saturday of December.

This month, things are working a bit differently, so please be sure to read carefully. Competitive will be playing at Auburn this month, while all Super Rec teams will be playing at Stad. Team lists have been posted on the registrations page.

Now for the important stuff:

First off, if you are playing Super Rec this month, please email your team name and player list to me at “dewittl [AT] gmail [DOT] com”. Please inform your team to bring ID as you may need it to enter Stad on Saturday morning. We need team lists by Wednesday night at 8PM at the absolute latest so we can get the information to the appropriate person at Stad.

Next, the CVNS executive needs your help. We have had quite a bit of turnover in the executive this year, and we need help replacing the members that we’ve lost. If you are interested in helping out, please get into contact with the court reps on Saturday, or email any of the names on the contact page. Court reps are needed at all levels, ESPECIALLY Super Rec. There’s a chance that the league would have to fold if we cannot get enough help, so please, if you’re able, help out.

The teams for the first tournament of the season have been posted to the registrations page. Like in previous years, the tournament will only be played at Stad. Teams that have registered for the year as Super Rec teams will play Super Rec format, where Competitive teams will play Superstar format.

An important note: If you are playing at Stad this weekend, please be sure to have your ID on you when you arrive.

The next tournament of the year will be in just a couple weeks, the first Saturday of October!

Hello everyone, It is that time again!! Please note that the first CVNS tournament is scheduled forSeptember 20 at Stad. We will take a max of 15 teams. We are planning on running coed format for Super Rec division and Super Star format for Competitive division. Cost is the same as last year: $90/team. Once other dates are confirmed, I will post dates on CVNS site and facebook.

The end of the 2013-2014 CVNS season is upon us, happening this weekend. Competitive will end the year at Stad and they’ll be joined by a select group of Super Rec Teams, while the rest of the Super Rec teams will play at Auburn.

At Stad there will be a bit of a wrinkle in how the teams will play, where all the teams will be in the same pools, but Competitive teams standings will not affect the Super Rec division. The round robin at stad will be played in Super Rec, not Superstar, format. At the end of the round robin the competitive teams will break apart from the Super Rec and they will play what will be the “competitive final” for the tournament on the 3rd net and they will play that in Superstar format. The Super Rec teams will then “re-seed” based on removal of the Competitive teams. That is, if the competitive team finished first in their round robin division, then all of the Super Rec teams in that division will be bumped up one spot and the playoffs will be played as they normally are (2nd, 3rd and 4th become 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively).

Following the tournament there will be a CVNS Social at the DAL Grad House starting at 9pm and will run until 2am. Last call will be at 1am. There will be a DJ, and drink tickets (2 per CVNS player given out between 9 and 11), so come on out and have a time with your fellow volleyballers.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE: Teams playing at Stad who don’t normally play there, please have your IDs with you to gain access to the site. Please make sure your whole team knows about this, as I am just finding out about it now and apologize for the delay in communication.

The penultimate tournament of the 2013-2014 season is upon us and happening THIS Saturday. Competitive is at Stad, while Super Rec is split up between Auburn and Sackville. Check the registration pages to see where you’re playing. (note: at the time of writing this the competitive teams have not been confirmed, once they’ve been updated this post will be updated to indicate).

Another note is that the year end social will be happening at the Grad House on DAL campus after the May tournament. This is a good time with a DJ and the drinks are sure to be “a-flowin'”. Have fun out there, we’ll see you on Saturday!

Due to a gym shortage in the HRM we have booked a gym, KCA in the valley. The executive has tried to accommodate teams according to geographic locations. Please check the registrations page for where you’re playing and check the maps page if you need directions.

Thanks to our annual charity tournament (February), CVNS has once again donated $1,000 to KidSport, good work on that everyone, thanks for coming out! We look forward to seeing you in March!

There will be a social happening this year on May 3rd, after the final tournament of the year. More details will follow, but be sure to mark it on your calendars!
